How to Perspective Objects

The Perspective Envelope tool transforms the selected object into the shape of a quadrilateral with four corners. This makes the object look like a 3D perspective. The positions of the four corners can be controlled.

1Select the Object

Before performing a perspective transformation, be sure to select the object that will be transformed. You can use the Select Tool to perform the object selection process. You can also select the object you want to distort by left-clicking it on the canvas after switching to the Perspective Envelope tool. It should be noted that each time perspective transformation only affects one object. This means that one and only one selected object is required before perspective envelope.

In addition, Perspective Envelope tool is only applied to a path object, which means that if you select a text or shape object for perspective deformation, then you need to convert it into a path object. As shown below.

2Use Preset Perspective Styles

Business Card Designer Pro provides several preset perspective styles. Preset styles are generated using common 3D perspective methods. Imagine the selected object as a plane, and then rotate the plane inward or outward along the horizontal or vertical direction to obtain the perspective appearance. Use the mouse to click on the "Preset" button, and then you will see thumbnails of these styles in the list box that pops up. Move the mouse over a style item, and you will see on the canvas what the selected path will look like after perspective envelope. If you are satisfied with the effect of a style deformation, click the left mouse button on the style item to confirm. As shown below.

Preset Style for Perspective

If you need to deeply customize the style generated by the above 3D rotation. Then click the "Custom" button. In the dialog box that pops up, enter values representing the degrees of rotation. Then on the canvas you can preview what the selected path object looks like after perspective envelope. If you are satisfied with the result. Click the "OK" button to confirm.

Custom Perspective Button Custom Perspective Dialog
  • Horizontal: Specifies the degree of rotation in the horizontal direction, 0 means no rotation, 100 means a 90-degree rotation. Positive numbers represent rotation from the outside to the inside, while negative numbers represent rotation from the inside to the outside.
  • Vertical: Specifies the degree of rotation in the vertical direction, 0 means no rotation, 100 means 90 degrees rotation. Positive numbers represent rotation from the outside to the inside, while negative numbers represent rotation from the inside to the outside.

3Move Corner Positions for Perspective

The above method uses the object to rotate in 3D space to obtain the perspective appearance. The next method is to directly move the mouse to control the positions of the four corner points to control the perspective transformation style, as shown in the figure below.
