How to select objects

A perfectly designed logo may contain a large number of shapes, paths, texts or group objects. In the process of editing the logo, different objects are given different attributes such as color, style, size, and location. Then, before one or more objects are set to the desired appearance, you have to do an important thing is to use the Selection Tool to select these objects, and then can continue to set up the work.

Selection or Deselection is a very frequent operation in the logo design process. The following steps describe in detail how to use the Selection Tool provided by Logo Designer Pro to select drawing objects.

1Choose Selection Tool

Logo Designer Pro provides up to 20+ professional drawing tools. At different times, you may need to use different tools to complete other production tasks in the design process. Choose Selection Tool is to use the Selection Tool as the current editing tool. In fact, after Logo Designer Pro starts, the default is to use Selection Tool as the current editing tool. But in the later design process, if you switch to other design tool. You need to click the "Selection Tool" tool button in the Main Ribbon Bar to switch the current editing tool to the Selection Tool. As shown below.

2Perform Selection or Deselection

You can choose one of the following operations to choose or reverse the operation.

  • Click to select or deselect:
    • Click to select an object: Selecting an object by clicking with the left mouse button is the most common and simplest method. However, it should be noted that the clicked position is in the opaque area of the object. If you click on the transparent part of the object, there is no effect or another object is selected.
    • Clicking to deselect objects: If there is no object at the mouse click. It is the reverse selection operation, that is, the currently selected object will become unselected.
Click in the opaque part to select Click in the transparent section to deselect
  • Clicking + Shift to select or deselect : When the mouse is clicked, pressing the Shift key at the same time can also realize multiple selection. If the clicked object itself is in the selected state, it will become unselected after clicking. Conversely, if the object is not selected, it will be selected after clicking. As shown below.
  • Clicking + Shift to select or deselect

  • Using net selection to select or deselect: Net Selection is a simple and effective way to select multiple objects simultaneously. The implementation process is to draw a rectangular frame on the canvas. If the drawing object is completely contained in the rectangular frame, the object will be selected, otherwise it will not be selected (if it was previously selected, there will be a selected state to switch to a non-selected state). The process of drawing a rectangular frame is shown below. First click on the canvas to determine the vertex position of the rectangle, then keep the mouse pressed down, drag the mouse to change the size of the rectangle until it covers all the objects to be selected, and release the left mouse button.
  • Using net selection to select or deselect

  • Select Same : Select Same is to select objects with the same attributes. It requires that there is a selected drawing object before performing this function. Use the specified attribute of the object as a reference standard. If the corresponding attribute in the unselected object is the same as the selected object, select it, otherwise, deselect it. Select Same contains several common matching conditions, located on the Main Ribbon Bar. Only when the current editing tool is the Selection Tool, the "Select Same" tool button is displayed as part of the Selection Tool option, as shown below.
