How to Measure Shapes
To use the Measurement Tool, you need to drag the mouse to define a straight line
segment on the canvas. Then obtain the following information through the straight
line segment. Here, the Starting Point of the straight line segment is defined as
the Starting Point of the Measurement Tool, and its End Point is the End Point of
the Measurement tool.
- Length of Line Segment formed by Adjacent Intersections: If there
are some or a large number of drawing objects on the canvas, even if they are not
selected, the intersection with the straight line formed by dragging in the measurement
tool will produce a large number of intersections. The length of the straight line
segment formed by each adjacent intersection point will be shown in the form of
an annotation and the display position is exactly in the middle of the two points.
As shown in the figure below, the red ellipse border area is the line length information,
and the blue ellipse covers the intersection.
- Length of the First and Last Intersection: If the number of intersections
is more than 3, the length of the straight line segment composed of the first intersection
and the last intersection will also be displayed in the form of labels. The yellow
mark is shown in the figure below.
- Length of Starting Point and End Point: As shown in the figure
below, the start and end length information is displayed in the red ellipse marked
area, and the arrow marks the start and end points respectively.
- Drag Direction: The dragging direction of the straight line is
indicated by the angle between the straight line and the horizontal line, in a clockwise
direction. As shown in the red dashed part of the figure below.
1Choose Measurement Tool
On the
Main Ribbon Bar, switch to the "Edit" category. Find the
"Measurement Tool" tool button on the "Edit Tools" panel.
Click to select it. As shown below.
2Choose the most Suitable Options
When the Measurement Tool is used as the current editing tool, a series
of related options will appear on the right control panel. As shown below.
- Font Size: Used to set the font size used when displaying annotation information such as length or angle in text.
- Unit: Used to specify the unit used when displaying length information.
3Drag Mouse Pointer for Measurement
Move the mouse on the canvas. After determining the starting point, click the left
mouse button, keep it pressed, and drag the mouse along the direction of the drawing
objects to be measured. See the complete measurement report immediately.
