How to Edit Texts

Logo Designer Pro is capable of creating long and complex texts. However, it's also pretty convenient for creating small text objects such as heading, banners, logos, diagram labels and captions, etc. This section is a very basic introduction into text capabilities.

1Choose Text Tool

Creating a text object is as simple as switching to the Text Tool. On the Main Ribbon Bar, switch to the "Text" category. Find the "Create and Edit Text" tool button on the "Text Tool" panel. Click to select it. As shown below.

If you want to edit an existing text object, just double click with the mouse. Like other tools, Text tool can select objects of its own type - text objects -so you can double-click to select and position the cursor in any existing text object.

  • Letter Spacing: It is used to adjust spacing between letters. Unit is pixel.Logo Designer Pro provides keyboard shortcuts for this. When you are editing text, the Alt + < and Alt + > keys change the letter spacing in the current line of a text object, so that the total length of the line changes by 1 pixel at the current zoom. You can also directly enter the value in the edit box in the toolbar and press the Enter key to confirm adjustment. If part or all of the characters are selected, it is only valid for the selected characters. If no characters are selected. The all letter spacings in the text are changed simultaneously.
  • Line Height: It is used to adjust spacing between lines (times font size). Similar to letter spacing, you can also adjust line spacing in multi-line text objects. Try the Ctrl + Alt + < and Ctrl + Alt + > keys on any paragraph to space it in or out so that the overall height of the text object changes by 1 pixel at the current zoom. You can also directly enter the value in the edit box in the toolbar and press the Enter key to confirm adjustment. are selected. The all line spacings in the text are changed simultaneously.
  • Vertical Shift: It is used to shift vertically. Unit is pixel. You can move them vertically by using Alt + Up or Alt +Down keys. You can also directly enter the value in the edit box in the toolbar and press the Enter key to shift. If part or all of the characters are selected, it is only valid for the selected characters. If no characters are selected. All characters in the line where the cursor is located will move the specified distance in the vertical direction.
  • Kerning: The distances between letters are not uniform. Some two adjacent characters are far apart, while the other two characters are relatively close. The amount of such bad kerns (especially visible in large font sizes) is greater in low quality fonts than in high quality ones; however, in any text string and in any font you will probably find pairs of letters that will benefit from kerning adjustments. Just move your text editing cursor between the offending characters and use Alt + Left or Alt + Right to move the letters right of the cursor. You can also directly enter the value in the edit box in the toolbar and press the Enter key to confirm adjustment. If part or all of the characters are selected, it is only valid for the selected characters. If no characters are selected, nothing is done.
  • Word Spacing: It used to adjust spacing between words. The unit is pixel. You can also directly enter the value in the edit box in the toolbar and press the Enter key to confirm adjustment. If the selected character contains multiple words, the spacing between these words will be adjusted. On the contrary, the adjustment is the space between the word under the cursor and the previous word.
  • Letter Rotation: If there are selected characters in the text, only the selected characters are rotated by the specified angle. Otherwise, only the character to the right of the cursor is rotated.

Tip: Pressing Shift key with any spacing or kerning shortcut produces 10 times greater effect than without Shift.
