How to layout & organize logo drawing objects

Just like all the current popular graphical image editing software, EximiousSoft Logo Designer supports ayer editing strongly. In Logo Designer, usually a layer expressed as an object. Any final amazing Logo is composed of many relatively simple object composition splicing. To enable users convenient for Logo Design, Logo Designer provides a number of methods for object management, organization and transformation.

Change Z-Order

Z-Order is to move elements in the z-axis , what that means is that you can move an object to the front or to the back of another objects. Think of a pile of books, placed vertically, the 1st one at the bottom, the 2nd one on top the 1st one, the 3rd one on top of the 2nd one and so on. Now you want to move, say, the 8th book below the 7th book. So you need to change the Z-Order. In EximiousSoft Logo Designer, the objects are placed in the same way and each object has a unique z-index in the stacking order. You can change the stacking level of any element, as you can do to the pile of books. The commands Move to Front/Back/One Step Front/One Step Back help you change the stacking order, as described below.

1Move to Front

Using mouse clicking to choose "Drawing" category and find "Arrangement" sub-panel, select menu item to move the selected object(s) totally on top of all other elements.

2Move Forward

Using mouse clicking to choose "Drawing" category and find "Arrangement" sub-panel, select menu item to move the selected object(s) just above the object(s) which is/are on top of it/them.

3Move Backward

Using mouse clicking to choose "Drawing" category and find "Arrangement" sub-panel, select menu item to move the selected object(s)just below the object(s) which is/are just behind it/them.

4Move to Back

using mouse clicking to choose "Drawing" category and find "Arrangement" sub-panel, select menu item to move the selected object(s) at the bottom of all other objects.

Group/Ungroup object(s)

In some specific design scenarios, you need to combine many simple objects together as a single object to deal with. For example, combined with the object to reflection, shadows, 3D Bevel and other effects.

1Group Objects

Using mouse clicking to choose "Drawing" category and find "Arrangement" sub-panel, select menu item to group all selected objects together so that they can be threated as a single object.

2Ungroup Object

select menu item to break a set of grouped shapes back into individual objects.

Align object(s)

Using mouse clicking "Drawing" category and find "Arrangement" sub-panel. Choose corresponding alignment menu item. If multiple objects are selected, then the selected objects can be aligned top, left, right, bottom, middle, center or both with last selected object. If only an object is selected, it is aligned with canvas in logo design view .

Mirror Object(s)

1Mirror Horizontally

Using mouse clicking "Drawing" category and find "Arrangement" sub-panel, select menu item, let all selected objects in the horizontal direction flip.

2Mirror Vertically

Using mouse click to select "Drawing" category, and then find Arrangement Panel, select menu item select the object in the vertical direction flip.

Rotate Object(s)

Using mouse click "Drawing" category, and then find "Arrangement" panel, click tool button. In the pop-up list, select a suitable angle. Move your mouse over an option, in logo design view, you will see the selected object with this angle rotate, satisfaction click mouse confirm. If you need finer control, click on "more ..." button and enter the specified angle, all selected objects with this angle rotate in counterclockwise direction.

Cut/Copy/Paste Object(s)

You can cut/copy any selected object(s) and paste to your design. You can also copy image from other applications and paste to your design.

1Cut/Copy/Paste native object(s)

Select the object(s) by clicking on them. (See select object(s)). Then press Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+X to cut, Ctrl+V to paste the object(s). If you copy and paste any objects, the new pasted object(s) will be on same position to the copied object(s). You can move or resize the object(s) after done.

2Paste Bitmap

Copy-Paste image content: Copy any image from other applications (e.g. MS Paint, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Photo Editor), return to EximiousSoft Logo Designer, press Ctrl+V to paste to your logo design area. You will notice that a picture object will be created with that image. Now move/resize to your need.

Make Same Size for Object(s)

Using mouse clicking "Design" category, and then find "Resize" sub-panel, Select the appropriate Resize menu item. If multiple objects are selected, then the selected objects are maintaining horizontally, vertically or both the same size to last selected object. If only an object is selected, then it is kept the same size as the canvas in logo design view.

Import and Export Object(s)

Logo Designer allows an object to be saved as a file on disk, and then when needed load it from the file into the design. This can save a lot of work time and avoid repeat design. Using mouse clicking "Design" category, and then find the Import and Export panel, click tool button to import an object from a file into the current logo design; clicking tool button all the selected objects are saved to files.

Custom Position and Size

  • Left: The position of the left edge of the object in pixels shown.
  • Top: The position of the top edge of the object in pixels shown.
  • Lock: Check to lock the position and size of the object on the screen. This prevents the object from being moved or re-sized by mistake.
  • Width: The width of the object in pixels shown.
  • Height: The height of the object in pixels shown.
  • Keep Ratio: Check to keep aspect when the shape object is resized.
