How to make perfect flipping eBooks by ePage Creator

Part 1. Getting start with ePage Creator

If you want to convert an existing document to a publication, select "File - > Open" menu item from menu bar. ePage Creator will show the Windows Files Dialog for you. With which, you can browse all documents or related files on your computer. Selected the file which you want by mouse click, ePage Creator will open and load it automatically. Now you can start your creations for the publication freely.

  • EximiousSoft ePage Creator already defines a private publication format for holding all supported types publications while the extension name is "EPC" (It means EximiousSoft ePage Creator Project File). EPC format documents will keep all the information without any losing for the publication. If you currently do not have any time to finish editing, you can choose to save the publication as a file on your disk with EPC format. The next time the computer re-opens, you can continue to edit the publication.
  • You can also create a new blank publication, please select "File - > New" menu item from menu bar. The program will show a pop-up dialog which prompts you to enter the desired publishing size and number of pages. After that, click "OK" button. The blank publication is created. You can add any texts, shapes, images, links, videos for any page freely.
  • If you want to add some texts on the current editing page, find the "Add Text" toolbar button in the "Home" category and click it. Then click the left mouse button on the current page where the text box is started, then drag the left mouse button to draw a rectangle on the page. Until reach the desired size of the box, release the mouse button. You will see a flashing caret in the text box. Now, you can start to type any texts as you needs.
  • If you want to add images on the current editing page, find "Add Image" toolbar button in the "Home" category and click it. ePage Creator will show the Windows Files Dialog which prompts you select an image file. It is noticed that the program supports almost all current popular image formats. After selection click "OK" button to complete appending picture.
  • Having impressed the reader with the realistic page-flipping animation, you can completely stun him with embedded videos, sound, Flash to pages. Find "Add Video" toolbar button in the "Home" category and click it. ePage Creator will show the Windows Files Dialog which prompts you select a video file. It is noticed that the program supports more than 40+ video formats. After selection click "OK" button to complete inserting movie.
  • Switch to "Edit" view in ribbon toolbar, and then find the "Insert Shapes" panel. You can choose to insert some common used graphics such as rectangles, ellipses, lines, arrows, etc. into editing page. If you want to draw the unique graphics by yourself, choose "Custom Shape" Tool, It enables you to draw fully personalized graphics by drag and clicking with mouse button.
  • If you want to delete the unwanted pages, texts, graphics or images. The first you need to select them by clicking mouse button. EximiousSoft ePage Creator supports to select more than one object at a same time. The standard Windows multiple-selection shortcuts of "Ctrl+Click" and "Shift+Click" are supported. Then click on the "Erase" toolbar button in "Home" category to delete the selected objects. The program also supports Undo/Redo, if it is a mistaken delete operation, you can restore by Undo.

Part 2. How to edit and modify text

The editing text in EximiousSoft ePage Creator is like other popular word processing application. If you want to modify a text object, first, you need to position the mouse on the text object, then double-click by mouse button. You will see the flashing caret, which mean now you can edit the text freely. Similar reasoning, when editing text, you usually need to select edit characters,By clicking to select a start character, then hold the mouse pressed, drag the mouse to select all the characters you want to edit. After selection, you can edit and modify the character through one or more of the following.

  • Set the character Font. In Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, find the font list box and click it. You will see all supported fonts in current Windows system are listed here and their appearance or style with each font can be previewed directly. Click to select an appropriate font to complete this done.
  • Set the Font Size. In Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, find the font size list box and click it,click to select an appropriate font size for all selected characters.
  • Set/cancel the Bold. In Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, find the "Bold" toolbar button and click it to make the selection Bold (toggle).
  • Set/cancel the Italic. In Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, find the "Italic" toolbar button and click it to make the selection Italic (toggle).
  • Set/cancel the Underline. In Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, find the "Underline" toolbar button and click it to format the selection with a continuous line(toggle).
  • Set/Delete the Strikethrough. In Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, find "Strikethrough" button and click it to draw a line through the middle of the selected texts (toggle).
  • Set/Cancel Superscript/Subscript. In Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, find on the "Superscript" or "Subscript" toolbar button and click it to format the selected characters are superscript or subscript.
  • Set the Spacing between characters. In Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, in "Character" edit box input the value which is used to set the selected spacing between connected characters.
  • Set the Baseline Shift for texts. In the Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, in "Baseline" edit box input the value which is used to set the baseline shift for all selected characters. By default, there is no shift.
  • Set the Horizontal Offset for texts. In the Ribbon toolbar "Home" category, in "Horizon" edit box to input the value which is used set horizontal offset for all selected characters. By default, there is no offset.

Part 3. How to edit vector graphics

EximiousSoft ePage Creator give you the powerful ability to draw vivid, attractive vector graphics. Which is very useful to help advanced users to create professional-look, commercial-level, perfect publications.

  • Custom unique graphics. In the Ribbon toolbar "Edit" category, find "Custom Shape" toolbar button and click it. Then click on current editing page. Keep repeating these two operations as following: releasing the mouse draw a straight line segment, keep the button pressed and while drag the mouse to draw the curve segment. Until get desired shape, double-click or right-click to end this drawing.
  • Move Nodes. In the Ribbon toolbar "Edit" category, find "Move Anchor" toolbar button and click it. Then clicking the left mouse button to select the node you want to move which in an existing path of a shape, keep the left mouse button pressed and drag the node to a new location.
  • Add Nodes. In Ribbon toolbar "Edit" category, find the "Add Anchor" toolbar button and click it. Then click with the left mouse button to add a new node in an existing path of a shape.
  • Delete Nodes. In Ribbon toolbar "Edit" category, find the "Delete Anchor" toolbar button and click it, then by clicking mouse to delete an existing node in an existing path of a shape.
  • Convert Straight/Curve Segments. In Ribbon toolbar "Edit" category, find the "Convert Anchor" toolbar button and click it. Then by clicking existing node in an existing path, convert the segment as a straight line or curve segment as you needs.

Part 4. How to organize or manage publication

  • In the Ribbon toolbar "Edit" category, find "New Page" toolbar button and click it to insert a new blank page on into your publication.
  • In the Ribbon toolbar "Edit" category, find "Duplicate Page(s)" toolbar button and click it to copy the selected page and insert them into your publication.
  • In the Ribbon toolbar "Edit" category, find "Delete Page(s)" toolbar button and click it to delete all the selected pages.
  • In the Ribbon toolbar "Edit" category, click the following menu items to adjust the pages position of in the publication.
    • Move to First: Move the selected pages to front in publication.
    • Move Previously: move the selected pages one position forward in publication.
    • Move Next: move the selected pages move back one position in publication.
    • Move to last: Move the selected pages to the last position in the publication.
